Keeping Up With Back to School Fashion Trends

Posted in Uncategorized on October 21st, 2011 by – Be the first to comment

If your child goes to a Catholic School, where all the children wear the same drab uniforms, you, as a parent do not have to worry about keeping up with the latest fashion trends. However, in the public school it is different. You child is competing in a fashion show which is constantly changing. What was in last year may be out this year. Do you remember the year of the Bell Bottoms? Believe it or not, these are coming back in style!

The first thing is to listen to your child. They know what the latest fashion trends are. They interact with other students and know what is in. Do not go to the store and buy an outfit just because you like it. Your child may say I would not be caught dead wearing something like this! Rather take your child to the store and have him decide.

The question is whether or not keeping up with these fashion trends will break your bank account. Rather than buying everything at once, do the clothing shopping throughout the year. Allow five percent of your weekly paycheck for purchases. That way you can set a limit on what you child can get.

Before you buy top-of-the-line fashions, check out the clearance racks in department stores. You never know what treasures you may find. T. J. Maxx is an excellent store to shop at to meet the demands of your teenager. Not only do they have a layaway, they have a large assortment of clothes to choose from. Their clearance racks are full of the latest fashion. You can get a hot pair of pants for fewer than ten dollars.

The Salvation Army is another great place to shop. While people tend to turn their noses up at second-hand stores, teens tend to be thriftier these days. You may even find something that still has tags on it. Some people may buy an outfit, wear it once and then throw it in the back of the closet. Chances are you will find an outfit that is almost brand new.

As mentioned, fashion trends are constantly changing. They also are different in specific parts of the country. What may be hot in California may be not in New York. Therefore, as parents, you must know what the fashion  trends are in your state, city or town. In New York State the fashion trends are Gothis, Grunge, layered look and skinny jeans.

The Gothic Look is very popular in New York. While not everybody has dyed black hair, makeup or fingernails, the clothing is very popular. While black clothing is the most popular, Goths also tend to wear grays and metallics.

The Grunge Look from the 1990s is also making a comeback. Teens tend to wear clothes that are oversized such a coats, shirts and pants. The ones who are in this look have no problems buying their clothes from thrift stores.

The layered look is a very popular fashion trend. While this is not Alaska, New York can also get cold. This looks allows teens to show a bit of fashion and stay warm at the same time. There are different varieties of the layered look. One is wearing a favorite tee shirt with a long sleeve shirt. Another possibility for this look is wearing a long sweater with a blouse. The blouse should be tucked into the pants to draw attention to the sweater. When wearing three shirts, the necklines should all be different, with the inside shirt with the highest neckline.

Skinny Jeans are still very popular even though they have been around since the 1950s. These are form fitting jeans that give a snug fit around the legs. They are worn by both males and females. To be comfortable, the jeans should have some stretch to them. Wearing longer tee-shirts and flowing tops with skinny jeans is the main fashion trend.

Your child knows what the latest fashion trends are. While you may not be able to keep up with each fashion trend, by setting a budget and doing some smart shopping, your child can still compete in the fashion show of students.

T-shirt Trends in 2010

Article by webmaster custom t-shirts

To stay one step ahead of the competition, it’s important to always know what’s new and popular, and what is going to make the biggest splash in the next twelve months. Those on the front lines of the printing industry seem to always have a handle on what people want and what will sell at any given point. Here are some thoughts on trends to watch in 2010. The hugely popular “all over” prints, such as those produced by Ed Hardy or Affliction seem to have run their course, and we will probably see designs becoming more subtle while still making a big statement.Simple styles seem to always have a leg up on more complex designs, and also seem to sell better. The cyclical nature of styles applies to the T-shirt printing industry just as much as it does to designer sportswear, and if you’ve been around for quite some time, chances are you’ve seen similar designs before. Sometimes groups of designers will spin something old and it will come out looking now, but truly original is not very common.T-shirt companies with the most original ideas seem to always come out ahead of the pack. People who aren’t afraid to take risks, but rather design something new and get thousands sent out before they sleep, are the companies that will be most successful in the next year or so.

New and cheaper technology is enabling young people to get into the business at record rates. Special processes that could only be done by certain companies- like foils, custom tag printing, and 3-D prints, are now commonly available to designers without a lot of startup capital. While T-shirt companies have been around for years, most have not yet taken advantage of what the internet can offer them. The more printers, t-shirt brands, and suppliers understand about the internet and the marketing opportunities it affords them, the easier it will be for t-shirt lovers to find the coolest shirts online, or hook up with a great t-shirt printer that understands what they want. Continued growth in the printed apparel industry has been predicted by industry veterans. If you envision something a little bit different that what you see out there, and want to bring your artist’s eye to the design of a line of shirts, you can be part of the expected growth. Likewise, cultural or political sarcasm splashed across a tee can be an instant best seller. T-shirt printers around the country rush to print with designs that echo current events. How many do you think are printing “Pants on the Ground” t-shirts this week? How many will be in the coming weeks to keep up with the likely insane demand for them. One great t-shirt printer can be found at Under the Influence Tees. “Inventing Internet Fun One Design at a Time!”

2010 Fashion Trends in Urban Hip Hop Clothing For Winter and Spring

Posted in Gifts on January 9th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

The year 2009, is nearing to an end and fashion gurus from the world have announced 2010 Trends for Urban Hip Hop clothing. Let us have a look at what is going to rule the market is the next year:

Women’s urban hip hop clothing trend for autumn and winter:

• Fashion experts announce that chunky knits are going to rule the clothing trends in winter. Thick textures in different colors would be trendy. Stylish knitted scarves and knitted jumper sweater would be the preferred accessories in the coming season.

• Laddered Stocking is clearly the trend for women clothing in 2010. Well, this look was first spotted in 2008 and has quickly picked up since then.

Celebrities such as Kate Moss have worn this look. The ideal way of wearing laddered stocking is to wear it with a short skirt. Thus, we are sure that short skirts are going to be another trend this season. Taking laddered stocking little further, super tight jeans with a few shreds here and there is too considered a hot trend in 2010.

Women’s urban hip hop clothing trend for 2010 spring:

• Transparent clothing will come back in the spring of 2010. Katie Holmes is spotted with this look.

• One shouldered dress is also going to hit 2010 with a big bang.

• Denim skirts and one piece would be a rage in 2010.

Men’s urban hip hop clothing trend for 2010 for winter and spring:

• Denims would rule the men’s urban fashion. And by denim, it is not just jeans; denim would be translated to jackets and casual pants too.

• Athletic jerseys and sneakers can never go out of fashion front. But the trend clearly indicates that Rocawear is in. Not just serious office goers would wear dress shirts in stripes. Teenagers and young men attending rap concerts would wear these.

• Just as black leather jacket is always the trend, 2010 is not an exception. Black leather jackets will rule the urban wear clothing style.

• Tracksuits would be most worn casual attire in 2010. Along with tracksuits, men’s tank tops too would be in vogue.

• Thermal wear in different colors would be a winter trend, whereas the trend in spring would be towards heat transfer tee shirts. This trend would in fact be an extension of the trend of 2009. The spring of 2009 was clearly ruled by heat transfer tee shirts.

• The most popular tee shirts would be the ones with funny messages inscribed.

Apart from the above, vintage clothing will also rule the urban clothing. This would include the tight jeans, leather skirts and mini skirts. Embroidered clothing in any form will always be in the forefront. This would include embroidered shorts, jeans, jackets etc.

With the stock of the above-mentioned items on your stack, you will never have a problem of non-moving items or locked up inventory. Try to stock as many varieties and styles in different colors, to give your customers maximum options.

People generally look for clothing on the web for latest trends and new fashions, well price is always on mind while clicking the buy button, It’s always better to go for Wholesale urban hip hop clothing stores which is always cheaper than retail ones online.

Fashion Trends For Winter 2010

Posted in Gifts on January 9th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

Down-to-earth advice on everything fashionable from runways for Winter 2010.

Over the knee boots

Fashionistas everywhere will be sporting over the knee boots this winter. Erase the image of the cheesy thigh-highs Julia Roberts sported in Pretty Woman, because this boot trend is not leaving anytime soon. Pair them with coats, jeans, leggings, tights, skirts, dresses, rompers, sweaters, and almost anything!

Leather

The runways of New York, Milan and Paris were all filled with leather for the fall. But leave your common misconception at the door. Designers used leather to make wearable, soft, feminine clothing for 2010, a must-have for any trendsetter.

Opaque tights

Goodbye Leggings! Opaque tights are the hottest item this winter, mainly because of its versatility. Colored tights, patterned tights, glittered tights and more all graced the runways this year. They enable summer dresses to be transformed into winter-wear, which admittedly we are all grateful for.

Military

The military trend still persists, but this season, it’s become more tailored and ‘British’, rather than goth and dark. Military jackets have a sharp, almost masculine look which contrasts so well with floaty and feminine pieces to match. A soon to be wardrobe staple for any fashionista.

Exotic Elements

Animal prints, tribal prints, feathers and fur were all major staples for designers this winter. They took forms of hair accessories, gloves, scarves, bags, shoes and of course, clothing. I love the excitement of patterns, the ‘global’ feel and the uniqueness an exotic element brings to one’s clothing.

Blazers

The boyfriend blazer trend of 2007 is back with a vengeance, but with more femininity. The cut is more streamline, tailored and the lengths are shorter. The blazers have gotten bolder moving away from gray and black to brighter colors, textures and patterns. Those who assumed blazers were out, eat your words!

Embellishments

Extravagant embellishments such as lace, brocade, sequins, velvet and others were rampant on the runways for winter. These luxe details made darker colors and muted designs sparkle. Velvet ribbons, glitter sequins, lace detailing were seen on blouses, pants, shoes, bags, scarves, hoods, jackets and more.

Send Seasonal Flowers: Summer 2009 trends

Posted in Tshirts on October 24th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

It may be only the month of October, but already the warm, sunny days are upon us, and the cold winter winds are leaving. Summer is ahead of us, and South Africa’s famous flowers are starting to bloom across the country. Summer flowers are a signature feature of this happy and enjoyable time. The fresh fragrances, coupled with bright hues of red, yellow, pink, purple and green, create an atmosphere of joviality.

Various flower arranging trends come to the fore every season. Some are annual trends and remain for long periods, whilst others are new and innovative, existing just for a season or two. Fresh cut flower trends involve the various different types of flowers in bloom, and the different styles of arranging them in one’s garden, home or in gift bouquets.

Summer flowers and trends are also important for significant events and parties, such as weddings. Summer is a very popular season for weddings as the weather is favourable and adds to the beauty of the celebration. The floral arrangements at the ceremony, the reception and in the various bouquets are an important part of wedding décor, as they help to create atmosphere, and convey symbolism and meaning.

Send seasonal flowers and enjoy the new styles of flower arrangements for summer 2009.

Send seasonal flowers in fashion
Even flowers can set fashion trends! Important factors to consider when concerning flower trends are the type of flower, the colour and the arrangement involved.

2008 saw the coupling of hues such as lilac and purple, green and white and black and white. These colours were popular choices in wedding celebrations and also in flower arrangements for other occasions. While minimalist colour preference may still carry over into 2009, particularly when special events are concerned, this summer the flower trends are very different. Bright and luminous shades are expected to be extremely popular in 2009. The more intense and vivid the shade of the flowers, the better! Exotic tones are also set to be very popular this summer season.

Colour schemes set to be the trend in summer 2009 are tropical, with canary yellow and turquoise shades being popular choices. These colours can be blended in a wedding setting, or combined in a bouquet as a flower gift from a florist. Orange is another striking colour making a comeback in the summer of 2009, and into 2010. Use combinations of orange and pink, such as orange tiger lilies and pink gerberas or roses. As the trendy colours of summer 2009 are expected to be vivid and striking, any fresh cut flower used in an arrangement should be a hot, luminous hue.

Seasonal flower decor
Flower arrangement is also important in flower trends. Vases have become a key element of flower arrangements. The 2009 trend for summer is the use of single stem vases of varying shapes. Long stemmed flowers in single stem vases of different sizes and shapes make attractive decor in the home and workplace. Whilst the trend may seem minimalist, the presentation brightens otherwise dull rooms without being overbearing. These vases are also very useful in wedding décor, such as table centre pieces.

Bouquets and arrangements at weddings are more focused on abstract arrangements. This pairs traditional flowers with new and more ‘modern’ flower choices. For example, a bouquet of ten white roses and two pin-cushion proteas, surrounded by assorted greenery from shrubs, is a far cry from the traditional bouquets of pink and white roses surrounded by baby’s breath.

Online florists are an excellent source of flower arrangements that feature contemporary trends. Their websites are easy to use, and ordering online is safe and risk-free. The flower gift can even be delivered on the same day if the order is made early enough. The catalogues showcased on the websites are usually very extensive, yet easy to search.

Summer flowers of 2009 boast a clear and uncomplicated trend – very deep and striking colours, especially on plants with the ability to show a lot of colour. Presentation favours single stem vases containing one flower of striking colour, creating a minimalist yet very noticeable effect.

You too can enjoy the latest flower fashions this season. Order or send seasonal flowers today, and enjoy the vibrancy of summer in your home.

Can You Get Designer Skin Care Online?

Posted in Tshirts on October 21st, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

The trouble with the modern economy is that shopping is no longer en vogue.  If you go to a specialty retailer for designer beauty products, you have to ask for a brown bag to avoid getting nasty looks on the way home.  Yet it is important to maintain your look, even if the stock market can’t maintain itself.  So where else can you buy designer beauty products?  Can you get designer skin care online?

The answer is a resounding yes.  The best names in beauty care are widely available online.  In many cases, the online selection is superior to that found in stores, because the product lines are not fighting for shelf space in a tiny shop.  You may also be able to save a substantial sum over the regular retail prices when you shop online.

One example of this phenomenon is the French skin care company Decleor.  While other upmarket skin products have poorly developed web presences, Decleor has a number of smooth web partnerships to make its products available.  The French firm has poured millions of dollars into creating innovative skin care products that leverage science, organics, and aromatherapy–the least they can do is make them available!

Their best partnership are helping the company take advantage of the recessionary urge to experiment.  Designer beauty products need to be delivering on their results, and even if you are happy with your products, if you aren’t in the mood to take on the misery of shopping retail you may be trying other products.  By offering lower prices online, Decleor is able to benefit its regular customers and attract new buyers.

It’s a strong strategy for a company that knows its products can live up to their promises. Declear is a pioneer in adding aromatherapy elements to its products, and helped invent new terms in this area in 1989.  Thanks to their decades of lab study, the company knows that it can go out to the web with a stellar reputation and allow you to have the very best delivered straight to your door.

Cutting out the middleman retailers, Decleor is able to offer online price points lower than normal, and do promotional offers that wouldn’t go over in stores.  Currently, the company is giving free gifts to customers who buy two or more products online.  You can simply click away, get your designer goods, get a free gift, and never have to worry about anyone knowing you are bucking the anti-shopping trends and still buying the best.

LifeandLooks works to take the pain out of shopping. Their number one priority is creating a consumer friendly website where you can find all of your health, wellbeing, beauty and cosmetic products at affordable prices on all brands such as Leighton Denny and Decleor products.
